Eric Lakin is a fourth-generation builder who brings more than 25 years of construction and real estate experience to CarlsonWilliam.


Eric oversees all of CarlsonWilliam’s development, construction and consulting-related assignments and advises the firm’s clients with their acquisition-related activities. His expertise includes development, design and pre-construction services, as well as the strategic planning, budgeting and scheduling of all construction activities.


Prior to leading CarlsonWilliam, Eric directed the construction and renovation activities of WinShip Properties’ $150 million portfolio of full-service hotel properties, which encompassed 1,300 guest rooms in markets throughout Northern California and Arizona.


As principal of The Lakin Group, he provided general contracting, construction management and consulting services to clients in Northern California.


Earlier, Eric was director of construction for Pacific Gateway Properties in San Francisco, where he was responsible for the management and operations of the firm’s construction division, and oversaw the design and construction activities of a $350 million portfolio of properties.


He also served as project manager for Perini Investment Properties, directing the tenant- and capital-improvements projects for Rincon Center, a one-million-square-foot, mixed-use development in downtown San Francisco.


Eric is licensed as a general contractor by the state of California and is a LEED accredited professional. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from St. Mary’s College of California.
